He is experienced in working in partnership with a range of stakeholders including local authorities, higher education, and voluntary and charity sector organisations. He possesses a broad skillset and knowledge base encompassing strategic project management, Agile software development, data analysis, and economic development.
In his former role at East Renfrewshire Council as Project Manager he:
- Managed a team of 13 staff members, using Agile Scrum to deliver customer experience improvements across the Council, delivering iteratively through a series of 2-week sprints.
- Coordinated the transfer of all processes from East Renfrewshire’s outdated CRM system to a new Customer Experience Management (CXM) product, consulting across departments to improve processes and provide a better customer experience across a range of services.
- Transformed team processes, supporting the team to adopt Agile ceremonies and processes, implemented consistency in using user stories, applying story points in order to track team velocity and running bi-weekly backlog refinement sessions to ensure tasks are ready.
- Created a new process for managing backlog tasks to ensure broader stakeholder representation from across the Council. Developed a scoring matrix to support business representatives to focus on prioritising work packages that deliver the most benefit to the customer, whilst also emphasising the importance of iterative delivery, to deliver the highest benefit in the shortest possible time frame.
Established a working group with the Data Team, in order to drive forward the production of custom Power BI dashboards based on live CXM system data. Built a proof-of-concept Customer Dashboard in Power BI which has subsequently moved into BAU.
